As an Erasmus student practice, I had the opportunity to work in the legal studio Scognamiglio, which offered me the chance to work in a real legal environment with great professionals, skilled in most areas of law, including international, which introduce you in their daily work.On the other hand, offers the chance to live a unique experience with excellent and friendly people, who will always be available for whatever you need and in a city that could not compare to any other European city.

The south Italian mindset does definitely not end outside the doors of Studio Legale Scognamiglio. Never have I seen people go from wittedly fooling around to highly professional in less than a heartbeat as often as during my time in this familiar firm right in the vivid historical center. A working atmosphere not imaginable for someone coming directly from the German University. On another note, the insight I’ve been given here is just priceless. All I know is, this is where my career started and I could hardly have asked for a better start.

After my graduation, my first real work experience was as an Erasmus student at Studio Legale Scognamiglio. I feel very lucky for this. I spent an excellent three-month process in the same environment with nice, kind, warm-blooded, and very professional people. I will always remember this three-month period with good feelings. My trainee period at Scognamiglio International Law Firm in Spring 2013 was an excellent and unique experience, during which I got to e.g. see and learn about the Neapolitan court system and draft legal documents. My name is Benjamin Züfle and I am an Erasmus student from Germany. I had a great time at Studio Legale Scognamiglio, especially because I had the chance to enjoy the great working atmosphere that exists in this legal office. Although, I didn’t have any practical experience dealing with juridical problems in real life so far, Studio Legale Scognamiglio offered me the possibility to work totally autonomously and to gain valuable work experience. I have to say that if I had the opportunity to work again at Studio Legale Scognamiglio one day, I would be most grateful to do so.

My trainee period at Scognamiglio International Law Firm in Autumn 2013 was an interesting experience. I got to see how a Neapolitan law firm works and how it would be like to work as a lawyer in Naples. In addition to this, I got to explore the exciting city of Naples and learned a little bit of Italian. I would highly recommend the trainee period at Scognamiglio International Law Firm to anyone looking for new challenges and experiences abroad.

Having completed my law degrees, I sought to gain practical experience in a law firm and improve my Italian Language Skills whilst exposing myself to a completely diverse culture and working environment. My internship at Scognamiglio International Law Firm certainly fulfilled all of these aspirations! As an intern I assisted on intellectual property rights disputes, breach of contract negotiations, challenges to, and applications for, injunctions, the facilitation of the closure and liquidation of a company and other international commercial matters. I was able to join the senior lawyers when they went to court, attend conferences and meet with clients. The rich Neapolitan culture and incredible cuisine kept me busy in my free time. At the end of my traineeship, I really felt that I had had an authentic experience of a Southern Italian Law firm and learned a great deal from it.

Working as a trainee at Scognamiglio International Law Firm in summer 2014 gave me the chance to learn, understand and experience the Italian legal system also by comparing it to the German one. I assisted the firm’s lawyers in court hearings, at correspondence with clients from Switzerland as well as legal research and drafting legal documents. Thereby I was certainly able to improve my Italian language skills. Not only the highly cordial and obliging atmosphere at work but also exploring and living in an unique and fascinating city as Naples made this truly great experience unforgettable and one I would never ever want to miss!

After almost 5 years I came back to Naples and visited the Studio Legale Scognamiglio, where I attended the Trainee Programm from January until March 2010. I was welcomed very warmly and felt very familiar with the people in the Studio Legale Scognamiglio. During the five years Naples has changed. It became more internationally. I like this, but I am also very happy, that I have been in Naples before, when it was more origin.

I want sincerely thank each of you for welcoming me into the firm for the past six weeks. Participating to the training program and getting the know the beautiful, chaotic city of Naples and each of you is an experience that will stay with me forever.

The first time I walked into the Scognamiglio office I was a stranger to the members of the Scognamiglio team, but also to any professional experience. In the space of five minutes, I was already dealing with real legal issues as a member of this joyful family. During my three month traineeship, I was able to work on a variety of international contracts such as distribution or confidentiality agreements. I also assisted the firms lawyers with a whole array of matters and was responsible for carrying out legal research for clients.Naples is incomparable to any place that you will ever see in Europe. Its agitated street’s and piazza’s are filled with beautifully deteriorating buildings, a wonderful passion for Calcio and the appealing perfume of exceptional food.

My time here at Studio Legale Scognamiglio has truly been unforgettable. The team has been so welcoming and friendly, and has offered invaluable insights about both the city of Naples and the realities of working in the international legal industry. This training program has provided me with a fantastic learning experience to develop in my career and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to appreciate this beautiful city. I would recommend this program to anyone who is interested in gaining practical knowledge about working in international law and exploring a city unlike any other.

As part of my legal traineeship in Germany, I had the chance to spend three months in this law firm. And it turns out, it was the best decision. Not only did I get to experience the daily work routine in an Italian law firm, but also got to know the people working in this firm and their cordiality. In particular, I had the opportunity to work with international clients and gain insight into cross-border litigation. Besides working at the firm, I can only recommend living in Naples to everyone. The people, the culture and the food are worth a longer stay and I will definitely come back.

While working with SLSLEX, among other things, I helped advise SLSLEX clients living in the United States with a variety of legal matters, helped draft various correspondence to clients and counsel in English, reviewed and edited contracts in multinational deals, helped Italian nationals living in the United States find local counsel and learned and observed the differences between US and Italian law and law firm practice. I have greatly enjoyed and benefitted from working with SLSLEX, a very successful law firm with a clear mission, values and defined areas of practice.
